Medical College: Sms Collects 20% Blood From Two Private Donation Camps In Jaipur | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The SMS Medical College has started following the orders issued by the state’s drug controller and sent its team to private blood banks to claim its share of 20% donated blood from Saturday. The order was issued after TOI highlighted shortage of blood in govt blood banks.

On Saturday, the SMS Medical College had 10 units of A+ blood group and in all its blood centres, 350 units of blood was available.
The college is targeting to increase it to 850 units to fulfil the requirement of the patients.

“Following the orders of drug controller (I), Food Safety and Drug Control Commissionerate (FSDCC), Rajasthan, we have sent our teams to private blood camps being organised today in two different areas. Our teams will collect 20% of the blood from the private blood banks,” said Dr Bhim Singh Meena, head, department of immuno-haematology and transfusion medicine (DITM), Sawai Man Singh Medical College.
