Organ Donation: Campaign For Organ Donation From Aug 3 | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Organ donation fortnight will be celebrated in the state from August 3 to August 17 under the ‘Angdan Jeevandan Mahabhiyan’, with the aim of motivating people to give life to others by donating organs. During the 14-day campaign, the health department will rope in different departments, government agencies and NGOs for spreading awareness on organ donation.

Additional chief secretary (health) Shubhra Singh said that through this campaign, efforts will be made to connect various institutions, including health department, medical education department, medical colleges, nursing and paramedical colleges, intellectuals of the society, district hospitals and voluntary organizations to motivate people for organ donation.
Various departments including all schools, colleges, trauma center, police department will be connected with it so that public awareness about organ donation can be created in the state. She said that the required amount of organ donation is not happening in Rajasthan and the state is lagging behind than the national average in organ donation. Organ transplant units are also being set up in medical colleges, so that the process of transplant will be easy.

Medical education (principal secretary) T Ravikanth said that principals of all medical colleges should take this up on priority and bring forward people of their area who have donated organs.
