Bharatpur: Heavy Rain In Bharatpur, Kota Divs | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Torrential rainfall was witnessed at many places in the Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota and Jodhpur divisions of the state on Saturday. Majority of the places witnessed widespread rainfall activity as the fourth spell of monsoon is in progress. Jaipur received a rainfall of 160mm, which was highest in the state.

Attributing the revival of monsoon to active northerly winds and higher humidity levels, Met office said that districts in the eastern and western Rajasthan are likely to get heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.
Jaipur was followed by Lalsoth (Dausa) where a rainfall of 120mm was recorded, Bhim (Rajsamand) 90mm. Atru(Baran) and Nokha (Bikaner) 80mm each, Neem Ka Thana(Sikar), Ajmer and Gangapur city (Sawai Madhopur) 70mm each snd Vair (Bharatpur) logged 60mm.

Also, rainfall varying from 50mm to 10mm was recorded at several districts.
The authorities at Bikaner and Sriganganagar, where heavy rainfall was witnessed on Friday, had a meeting in which district collectors asked authorities to complete the survey work of loss and damage during the rainfall.
Heavy rainfall also affected traffic on highways connecting Jaipur to Agra, Jaipur to Delhi and Jaipur to Ajmer. Due to heavy waterlogging and big potholes on the highways, commuters had a harrowing time as they got stuck in long jams for hours.
“Jaipur received a good rainfall almost after a fortnight. On Sunday, only light rainfall will occur in Jaipur,” said an officer of Met office.
He added that this spell of monsoon has been fruitful as the state has received nearly 80% more rainfall compared to the period last year.
