Pokhran Shut For 4th Consecutive Day To Protestincreasing Thefts | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: Pokhran town in Jaisalmer district remained shut for the fourth consecutive day on Monday as all the businessmen kept their shops closed to protest increasing thefts. The businessmen took out a silent procession and submitted a memorandum to the SDO.
SP Vikas Sangwan reached Pokhran and appealed to the delegation to open their shops and also informed them about the action being taken by the police. Pokhran MLA and cabinet minister Saleh Mohammad too reached the spot and requested the businessmen to open their shops.
For the past few days the city has been witnessing increasing number of thefts. Five days ago Rs 23 lakh were stolen from a dry fruits businessman’s place. This has irked the traders. All the associations are supporting the bandh that has been called by the traders.
SP Sangwan said that he met the businessmen in Pokhran and persuaded them to open their shops. He said that police teams are looking for the culprits who have been identified. He assured everyone that after this case is solved other thefts will also be solved. He requested traders to open the shops and said that the general public is facing problems and added that even small vendors like pan shops etc. are facing livelihood problems. tnn
