Govt Tables Two Bills In Assembly | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The state government has tabled The Rajasthan State Mela Authority (RSMA) Bill and The Rajasthan Laws Repealing (RAR) Bill in the Assembly on Friday. The RSMA is intended to put all the fairs and festivals under one state-level authority for its smooth execution.
The body will have 25 members including a chairman and the vice chairman. Under the Bill, the mela magistrate will have more powers than in the present system. “No mela will be held without the permission from the committee and the minimum number of days is 30 to seek permission prior to holding the fair,” reads the draft Bill.
“The committee in consultation with all administrative departments identified certain principal Acts and amending Acts lying on the statute books which are not relevant or no longer needed and can be repealed.”
The state has targeted to repeal 133 acts which are enumerated in the bill as recommended by the three-member committee formed by the government.
