Baran City Cong Prez Shot At Over Land Row, Critically Hurt | Jaipur News

Kota: Baran city Congress president and former head (Sabhapati) of Baran municipal council Gaurav Sharma was critically injured after some unidentified assailant allegedly shot fire into his head on Talawara road under Baran city police station on Wednesday.
Police suspect that a dispute over some land could be the reason behind the attack. Meanwhile, the accused in the matter are yet to be traced and nabbed.
The victim, Sharma (43), a resident of Tel factory area in Baran city sustained critical bullet injury into his head after some unidentified assailant allegedly shot fire at him while he was reportedly discussing a plot planning on Talwara road on Wednesday, said circle officer, Baran city DSP Rajendra Meena.
“In initial inquiry, it was found that Sharma was reportedly engaged in discussion with someone, identified as Raju alias Rajendra Meena, over a plot planning on Talawara road at around 11 am when a scuffle erupted on the spot wherein Sharma was shot at and the accused fled from the spot leaving him injured,” he added.
Sharma was referred to a higher medical centre at Kota where he is in a critical condition, the DSP said.
Prima facie, dispute over land was likely to be the reason behind firing over Sharma. Meanwhile police teams were dispatched in the field to trace the accused in the matter, he added. On information of firing, Baran S P Raj Kumar Choudhary also reached the spot and assessed the situation. He said, no complaint has been lodged in the matter yet.
